Following Nasrallah's speech and with preparations for an attack on Israel looming, panic in Lebanon is increasing along with criticism of the Shiite terror organization. According to a report by Channel 12 News, Lebanese politicians and activists are not remaining passive and are loudly warning on social media that Nasrallah is ruining the country. This represents a significant blow to Nasrallah, who continues to lose support among the Lebanese public, making it more difficult for him to respond aggressively against Israel.
The leader of the Christian Phalange Party, Sami Gemayel, said: "Hezbollah and Hassan Nasrallah are destroying Lebanon. At the expense of others, Nasrallah is destroying Lebanon. He tells us he has opened a front of support and that the Israeli army, which he describes as crazy and foolish, will adhere to the rules of engagement. As if Israel is waiting for him and committed not to cross the borders. Due to such erroneous calculations, Nasrallah will come back to us tomorrow and say, 'I wish I had known.'"
He added: "Who set the red lines? What are the red lines? Who said there are rules of engagement and what are they? And who will guarantee that if a war breaks out with a madman and fool, he won’t attack in the heart of Beirut and destroy the country again? The Lebanese people are living in despair, fear, and a state of tension. The country will be destroyed, Lebanese civilians will die, the economy will deteriorate, and the Lebanese will live in tension."
The leader of the Lebanese Forces party, Samir Geagea, also sought to convey a message to Nasrallah: "What do you want? Leave the south (Lebanon) alone, let the army take responsibility, and leave the rest to us."
Lebanese activist Raymond Hachem also attacked Nasrallah: "Hezbollah's weapons are a danger to Lebanon before they pose a threat to any other country." Additionally, he mocked Nasrallah, claiming that if he responds weakly against Israel, he will become a global joke. If he responds strongly, it will be his end.
