Al-Mayadeen, the Hezbollah-affiliated Lebanese outlet, reports that Hamas is waiting to see who Sinwar appoints as his deputy.

Among the leading candidates are Khaled Mashal, Musa Abu Marzouk, and Khalil al-Hayya.

IDF Chief of Staff Halevi said yesterday (Wednesday) that when it came to Sinwar, who has now been named leader of both the political and military wings of Hamas, "the change in his title not only does not prevent us from searching for him, it encourages us and we will make the effort to find him, and attack him, and let them replace the head of the political office once again."
