A group of eight Israeli tourists fell victim to a meticulously planned robbery at their rented villa in Santa Teresa, Costa Rica. The incident, which occurred late at night, involved a gang of armed criminals who disguised themselves as police officers to gain entry.

According to sources close to the investigation, the robbers had been tracking the group for days, allegedly targeting one member believed to be a high-tech crypto entrepreneur carrying a substantial amount of cash. Despite having hired a local security guard, the tourists were caught off guard by the late-night intrusion.

The assailants, wielding firearms, quickly overwhelmed the vacationers, forcing them into the living room where they were restrained with zip ties. Any attempts at resistance were met with threats of violence.

"This isn't typical for the area, which is generally considered safe for tourists," an insider familiar with the case stated. "The robbers knew exactly who they were targeting and were determined to carry out the theft at any cost."

Local authorities are currently investigating the incident, which has raised concerns about tourist safety in the region.

The Israeli embassy is reportedly in contact with the victims and cooperating with Costa Rican officials to address the situation.
