The Washington Post reports this evening that U.S. officials estimate that the anticipated retaliatory attack against Israel by its adversaries could occur in the "immediate timeframe."

According to the report, the Biden administration has informed American legislators that the retaliatory attack could take place today or tomorrow. It is worth noting that U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken told his G7 counterparts in a conference call on Sunday that an attack by Iran and Hezbollah against Israel could begin as early as from Monday, according to three sources familiar with the conversation, as reported by Barak Ravid.

According to the report, Blinken convened the conference call to coordinate positions with America's close allies and to attempt last-minute diplomatic pressure on Iran and Hezbollah to minimize the response as much as possible. He emphasized that limiting the impact of their attacks is the best chance to prevent a full-scale war. The sources stated that Blinken mentioned that the U.S. believes Iran and Hezbollah will respond together.
