Zohar addressed the fact that Israel is waiting for a response from Hezbollah and Iran rather than launching a pre-emptive attack.
In an interview with Radio 'Gali Israel,' Zohar said: "Israel is prepared both defensively and offensively in an unprecedented manner for an Iranian attack."
He continued, "I hear questions about why Netanyahu isn’t the one initiating an attack on Iran, which has effectively declared war on Israel. The answer is clear: Strategically, Israel is in a very complex situation with the ongoing conflict in the south against Hamas. If Israel is seen as the one starting a campaign and instigating war in the Middle East, there will be international consequences."
Zohar added, "Therefore, Netanyahu has stated that if we are required to engage in a conflict with Iran, and they force it upon us through an attack on Israel, Israel’s response will be extremely significant and powerful."
