The rocket fire on Gan Yavne last night caught residents by surprise and unprepared, especially given the recent significant decrease in rocket attacks on the Gaza envelope and other southern cities. However, according to Itzik Zuarz from Channel 11, the recent escalation involved a substantial number of rockets.
"Rocket fire on Ashkelon: A heavy barrage of 15 rockets, 2 intercepted. Even after 10 months of conflict, Hamas managed to launch more than 40 rockets in 4 days," he reported. It is worth noting that following the rocket fire from Khan Younis this afternoon, the IDF spokesperson in Arabic urged Gazans to evacuate the southern neighbourhood's of the city in preparation for a significant attack.
Additionally, since October 7, the IDF's operations in Gaza have led to the identification and destruction of numerous rocket launchers, weapon caches, and missiles.
