Watch: IDF takes out top Islamic Jihad commander Al-Jabari
Israel's military announces a significant blow to Palestinian Islamic Jihad's leadership, claiming the elimination of a key figure responsible for weapons production and financial operations.

The IDF has reported the targeted elimination of Muhammad al-Jabari, a high-ranking official in the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) organization. Al-Jabari, described as the deputy head of weapons production infrastructure and financial officer for the group, was killed in a precision strike in Gaza.
According to the IDF, al-Jabari played a crucial role in weapons production in northern Gaza, fund distribution to PIJ operatives, and efforts to rebuild the organization's rocket production capabilities.
The military emphasized that precautions were taken to minimize civilian casualties during the operation. In ongoing operations, IDF's Division 162, including units from the Givati and Nahal brigades, continues to engage in combat in the Rafah area.
The military reports eliminating approximately 30 militants through ground combat and air strikes over the past 24 hours.
Additionally, the Jerusalem Brigade (16) has begun operations in central Gaza under Division 252's command. In one incident, the brigade identified militants emerging from a tunnel, who were subsequently targeted by an air strike.
In a separate operation, the Harel Brigade (10) called in an air strike that destroyed a building reportedly used to store explosives and weapons. The IDF continues to stress its efforts to target militant infrastructure while attempting to minimize civilian casualties in the densely populated Gaza Strip.
