Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah gave a remote speech today (Thursday) at the funeral of Hezbollah leader Fuad Shukr, who was assassinated in an IDF strike a few days ago in retaliation for the massacre in Majdal Shams.

Nasrallah denied involvement in Majdal Shams and claimed an internal inquiry showed that they had not fired rockets in that direction. He also claimed that Israel presented no proof of this allegation, though Israel has presented photo evidence of the rockets comparing it to Iranian made missiles.

Going on to address the question of retaliation, Nasrallah worked to play down the effect of the death of Shukr, saying that assassinations do not tend to have a major effect on terrorist organizations such as Hamas and Hezbollah.

He ended by saying that the response and revenge would come, and that the enemy must wait for it, leaving the question of timing entirely open.
