UK Foreign and Defense Secretaries visit Lebanon to work towards de-escalation

Following a visit to Qatar, Britain’s Foreign Secretary David Lammy and Defense Secretary John Healey are now in Lebanon, trying to prevent further escalation of hostilities following Israel's strikes in Beirut and Iran.

Following their visit to Qatar yesterday (Wednesday), Britain’s Foreign Secretary David Lammy and Defense Secretary John Healey are in Lebanon today, working to ensure de-escalation in the region following Israel's strikes in Beirut and Iran, according to Naharnet.

The two are meeting with Speaker Nabih Berri and caretaker Foreign Minister Abdallah Bou Habib and will then meet with caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati.

Both Secretaries have emphasized the importance of ending the war in Gaza and deescalating tensions in the region, both in Qatar and in Lebanon.
