The IDF spokesperson announces that on July 30, 2024, during a targeted assassination operation, fighter jets attacked the Beirut area, guided by intelligence from Military Intelligence (AMAN), and eliminated Fuad Shukr, also known as "Said Mohsin," the highest-ranking military commander in the Hezbollah terror organization and head of its strategic division. Simultaneously, Mohsin served as the right-hand man and advisor on war planning and management to Hezbollah’s Secretary-General, Hassan Nasrallah.
According to official IDF sources, Mohsin had been managing Hezbollah’s fighting against the State of Israel since October 8 and was responsible for the murder of children in Majdal Shams and the killing of numerous Israeli and foreign civilians over the years.
As the head of Hezbollah’s strategic division, he was in charge of most of Hezbollah's advanced weaponry, particularly precision-guided missiles, cruise missiles, anti-ship missiles, long-range rockets, and unmanned aerial vehicles. In this role, he was responsible for building capabilities, planning, and executing all terror schemes against Israel.
Mohsin joined Hezbollah in 1985 and held various senior positions within the organization. He was a member of the Jihad Council, the senior military forum of Hezbollah.
In the 1990s, he promoted attacks against IDF forces and the South Lebanon Army. In 2000, he was directly involved in the abduction of the bodies of three soldiers—Sergeant Benjamin Abraham, Sergeant Adi Avitan, and Sergeant Omar Suad—who were killed by Hezbollah terrorists while patrolling along the border near Mount Dov. Since then, he planned and directed numerous offensive terror operations that harmed innocent civilians.
