The IDF reveals additional details about the recent raid carried out last week on Khan Younis, where face-to-face fire battles took place, terrorists were neutralized, and a depth tunnel 25 meters below ground was destroyed.
The combat team from the Paratroopers Brigade, along with additional infantry forces, armoured brigades, and the Air Force, have been operating intensively over the past few days in the heart of the Gaza Strip. Dozens of terrorists were eliminated in close-quarters battles and through other means. The fighters scanned extensive areas around Khan Younis, destroying terrorist infrastructure and weaponry. In addition to the battles, the fighters identified and destroyed a long-range rocket launcher prepared for use.
Underground, the IDF’s Yahalom unit, in coordination with armoured forces, destroyed an underground route approximately 25 meters deep and about 2 kilometres long. Within this route, blast doors and living areas used by the terrorists were found.
Furthermore, the fighters located a hidden shaft in the house of a terrorist, which was connected to an underground infrastructure used for firing rockets and shells at the forces and Israeli territory. The shaft led to an underground infrastructure of several tens of meters in length and depth, which was also destroyed.
