Lebanese government sources reportedly told Qatari media outlet al-Arabi tonight (Tuesday) that they intend to file a complaint with the UN Security Council over the IDF strike in Beirut.

Reports regarding the fate of Fuad Shukr, the senior Hezbollah commander targeted by the IDF in Beirut tonight in retaliation for the Majdal Shams massacre, remain conflicting.

A Hezbollah source speaking to Saudi media said the strike failed to kill Shukr, and Lebanese security sources told the same to Reuters. The Hezbollah-affiliated al-Mayadeen reported that Shukr was not in the building when it was attacked.

Israeli sources speaking to the Israeli media said that there was not yet confirmation whether the strike succeeded, though one assessment is that Shukr is very badly wounded.
