The situation continues to develop: Today (Tuesday), additional details were disclosed about the incident involving a senior Hamas operative from the Gaza Strip, who reportedly tried to grab a Taser gun from a soldier at Sde Teiman base. This confrontation led to the arrest of the soldiers last night during a raid on the detention facility. The hearings for extending the soldiers' detention were scheduled to start at 3:30 PM.
According to the organization "Honenu," the incident began when the terrorist, a commander from the Hamas group in the town of Jabalia in Gaza, attempted to take a Taser gun from one of the soldiers. The soldiers managed to subdue the terrorist through their determination, but one soldier sustained minor injuries during the altercation. Lawyers Adi Kedar and Nati Rom, representing the detained soldiers, stated, "The soldiers were called to assist in the incident and were attacked. This is a sad case where soldiers, who risk their lives for months amidst great personal suffering, are being judged by individuals who have never been in their shoes—neither Military Police nor the prosecution, who wouldn’t last a single day, let alone a week, in such a role."
It is worth noting that the terrorist was transferred from Ofer Prison to the Sde Teiman base on the same day, likely due to a rebellion he was involved in at Ofer. As part of the procedure, soldiers from Unit 100 conducted a search on him. During the search, the terrorist resisted, attacked, and bit the soldiers, and attempted to seize the Taser gun.
