American Envoy Warns in Lebanon: Broad Attack on the Way

According to reports, Lebanese politician Walid Jumblatt, a leader of the Druze community and a figure close to the Lebanese leadership, stated in an interview with Arab media that Amos Hochstein, the special envoy for President Joe Biden to the Middle East, warned that Israel is expected to carry out a significant operation in response to the killing of over ten children by a rocket attack on Majdal Shams. Jumblatt also mentioned that he accepts Hezbollah's claim that they did not launch the rocket that hit the soccer field, resulting in the deaths of 12 children.

Jumblatt further disclosed that he reprimanded the American envoy for his warnings and urged him to "remember that he is a mediator, not a threatened on behalf of Israel. I instructed him to perform his mediation role as he has in the past and to push for a ceasefire."
