PM Netanyahu to Return Early to Israel Following Fatal Rocket Attack in Majdal Shams

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is set to return to Israel urgently on Saturday night, three hours ahead of schedule, in response to a deadly rocket attack on the Druze town of Majdal Shams in northern Israel. The attack resulted in ten fatalities and left 19 people injured.

According to Jewish Breaking news sources, Netanyahu is cutting his visit to the US short and departing urgently to Israel at 11 pm tonight following the horrific rocket attack earlier today.

A security official stated, "We are preparing for several days of fighting in the North. The response to the awful incident in Majdal Shams will be harsher than usual."

Jerusalem post news reported that Foreign Minister Israel Katz stated on Saturday evening that the Hezbollah rocket assault on Majdal Shams, which caused severe civilian and child casualties, has crossed all red lines and will be met with a decisive response. The attack, which struck a soccer field near a playground, has elicited strong reactions from Israel’s political leaders, who have expressed their horror and condemnation.

According to Magen David Adom (MDA), the victims included teenagers and children aged 10 to 20, with many others suffering various degrees of injury.

President Isaac Herzog described the attack as "truly heartbreaking," emphasizing the indiscriminate nature of Hezbollah's aggression. "Hezbollah, armed and funded by Iran, does not distinguish between child and adult, soldier and civilian, Jew and Muslim, Druze and Christian. Today, Hezbollah terrorists brutally attacked and murdered children whose only crime was playing soccer," Herzog said. "The world cannot remain silent in the face of Nasrallah’s terror attacks, driven by the evil empire of Iran. The State of Israel will steadfastly protect its citizens and its sovereignty."

Foreign Minister Israel Katz also remarked, “We are nearing the moment of an all-out war against Hezbollah.”

Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir declared, "Since October 8th, I have maintained that we are in a state of war in the north, and the enemy must be defeated. Today, it is undeniable, even to those who, like the defense minister, favored containment, that we are at war."
