October 7th massacre update: Body parts found in vehicles

Police have launched an investigation following new findings in vehicles belonging to IDF soldiers from the Matkal unit who fought on October 7th in Kibbutz Be'eri. Remnants of bone fragments were discovered in the vehicles.

Nine months after October 7th, the police announced today (Wednesday) that they have initiated an investigation after explosive remnants were found at the heritage site where vehicles hit by anti-tank missiles on October 7th were transferred. There is also a possibility that bone fragments are present at the site.

On October 7th, IDF soldiers from the Matkal unit fought in Kibbutz Be'eri, saving many lives. During intense battles, two armuored vehicles were hit by anti-tank missiles and heavy crossfire.

Following the battles, the deaths of 9 personnel were confirmed (7 Matkal soldiers, one soldier from the Yoav unit, and one civilian who assisted the forces). According to the police statement, body parts were found among the explosive remnants in the vehicles, and some bone fragments were transferred to the Institute of Forensic Medicine for examination.

The families of the deceased who were in the vehicles have been updated regarding the investigation. The Police Commissioner has instructed to conduct an investigation into the incident, in addition to the professional teams tasked with conducting further in-depth tests on the vehicles.
