October 7th massacre, Recording, Kan 11 Journalist, victim

A Kan 11 journalist who was murdered recorded her last moments

Kana News journalist Ayelet Arnin, the late, was murdered on October 7th while she was at the Nova party and fled with her friends to Migunit near Kibbutz Ra'im. Recordings of her last moments are now being revealed.

On October 7, the late Ayelet Arnin was at the Nova party and fled with her friends to a shelter near Kibbutz Reim. When the Hamas terrorists closed in on the shelter they were hiding in, Ayelet, who was a sub-editor at Kan News, started a voice recording on her phone.

Now, months after the videos showing what happened outside the shelter were published, Arnin's recording, which is about three hours long, reveals what happened inside the shelter during the difficult moments. Starting from the moment when the terrorists arrive, Osama Abu Essa who attempted to save those inside, the battle of the grenades and the bravery to repel them, the moment when the grenade that explodes inside kills Aner Shapira, the whispers of encouragement among the wounded and also - the documentation of the difficult moments of Hirsch Goldberg-Pollin's kidnapping, Elia Cohen, Alon Ohel and Or Levy.

The last words of the late Ayelet Arnin, who is breaking up with her close friend Segev Kizner, are also heard in the recording, just before the terrorists return and shoot them.

The parts from the recording were carefully selected, in agreement and in coordination with the family of Ayelet Arnin (who saw importance in the fact that their daughter's documentation was published and published on the channel where she worked) as well as with other families and the survivors - parts that make it possible to understand what they went through there, in order to perpetuate and bring the cruelty to the world's attention but also the heroism.

The full documentation of the recording will be broadcast on Thursday (7/25/24) on Khan 11 at 9:30 p.m., as part of the film by Assaf Lieberman, Nadav Ben-Zur and Keren Gazit in the investigative program covering the horrific events of October 7th "Real Time."
