Red alarms were sounded in the Upper Galilee following a heavy barrage launched from Lebanon towards the settlements. Many residents report an explosion heard in the Haifa area.
The IDF spokesman said that "a short time ago, a launcher intercepted a suspicious aerial target in the Haifa area, which turned out to be a false target. An alert was not activated according to policy, there is no fear of a security incident." The police said that the interception was launched at a flock of birds that passed over the area.
Earlier, fighter jets of the Air Force attacked terrorist infrastructures of the Hezbollah terrorist organization in the area of Eyta a Sha'ab in southern Lebanon.
