An IDF officer was killed by a grenade explosion not during an operational activity, earlier this morning in the Gaza Strip. The military police began an investigation into the circumstances of the incident.

The IDF spokesman announced a short time ago that an IDF officer was killed by a grenade explosion that was not during an operational activity, earlier this morning in the Gaza Strip.

Following the serious incident, the military police opened an investigation into the circumstances of the incident, at the end of which the findings will be forwarded to the military attorney's office for examination.

The officer killed has not yet been named.

His family has been notified.
