The IDF has announced adjustments to the humanitarian zone in the Gaza Strip, following recent rocket attacks on southern Israel from the area. The eastern portion of the zone, located in Khan Younis, is now slated for evacuation.
The IDF states that the change is based on "precise intelligence indicating that Hamas has embedded terror infrastructure" within the humanitarian zone. The military emphasizes that remaining in this area has become dangerous.
In an effort to minimize civilian casualties, the IDF is issuing early warnings through various channels, including SMS messages, phone calls, and media broadcasts. Residents are being urged to relocate to an adjusted humanitarian area in al-Mawasi.
A military source confirms that hospitals in the affected area do not need to evacuate. This information has been communicated to Palestinian health officials and international community representatives.
The IDF says it plans to "forcefully operate against the terror organizations" in the evacuated area. This move comes as part of ongoing efforts to target Hamas while attempting to mitigate harm to civilians in the conflict zone.
