IDF, Airstrikes, Yemen, Israeli Opposition

Report: Senior Israeli official strongly opposed the attack in Yemen. This is why.

A senior Israeli official expressed strong opposition to an Israeli attack in Yemen. The same Israeli official said that Israel should attack Iran and not "open another front against Yemen".

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu approved the senior official to present the position in the cabinet - and it was rejected, Channel 13 reported. As mentioned, last night IDF spokesman Brigadier General Daniel Hagari referred to Israeli attacks on the Houthis in Yemen and said: "We attacked at 18:00 near Hodeidah Port in Yemen in response to attacks in the last 9 months that were funded and orchestrated by Iran, using Iranian-made UAVs, which launched about 220 aerial threats towards Israel, including UAVs."

Most of these threats were eliminated by the US Central Command and the coalition it commanded there, and also with IDF aircraft and systems at sea and on land. Today's attack is a response to everything that happened in the last 9 months, an attempt to create an image that this is Tel Aviv media response, a cumulative response to all the events. There was a penetration into our territory with casualties."

So Hagari referred to the details of the attack: "We attacked at a distance of more than 1,700 km using several aircraft, in a wide area 200 km further from Tehran, with its complexity and scope - the attack is proactive. From our point of view, the area we attacked is where military threats enter, there are other ports, in Eden and beyond, where humanitarian equipment can also be transported, it is an area they control."
