A major terrorist cell linked to Hamas and based at Bir Zeit University, known as 'Kataeb Al-Islamiya,' has been dismantled through a joint operation by the ISA, IDF, and Israel Police.

The operation led to the arrest of several students involved in planning a substantial attack under the direction of Hamas headquarters in Turkey.

Mahmoud Anjatz, a resident of Khirbat Bani Harith in the Binyamin region and the alleged leader of the cell, was found to have recruited operatives from Bir Zeit University. He utilized connections through Baraa Romana, a terrorist operative from Abu Dis University, to secure funding from Hamas in Turkey.

The cell was also involved in practical preparations for the attack and actions to transfer Hamas funds to field operatives. The operation yielded significant evidence, including an M16 rifle and large sums of cash. The case is now in the hands of military prosecution for further legal proceedings.
