In a brazen attack that threatens humanitarian efforts, Hamas militants launched a daring assault on Israeli forces guarding an aid route in southern Gaza yesterday. The incident, which unfolded in Rafah, saw Hamas operatives firing rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs) at IDF troops while aid trucks were passing through the area, highlighting the ongoing tensions and complexities of delivering assistance in the war-torn region.

The attack resulted in a Givati Brigade soldier being moderately wounded, underscoring the risks faced by those tasked with protecting humanitarian corridors. In response, the IDF swiftly moved to neutralize the cell responsible for the assault, demonstrating their commitment to maintaining security along these critical routes.

The humanitarian route, a lifeline connecting the Kerem Shalom Crossing to the Israeli-designated safe zone in Gaza, was temporarily closed following the attack. This closure threatened to disrupt the flow of desperately needed supplies to civilians caught in the crossfire of the ongoing conflict. However, in a testament to the resilience of aid efforts, the IDF reports that the trucks eventually reached their destination, ensuring that vital resources made it to those in need.
