BREAKING: Hamas officially confirms Deif hit in strike

Hamas sources officially confirmed that Deif was at the site the IDF believed him to be, and that he was hit in the strike. His death has not yet been officially confirmed.

Kann 11 News reporter Elior Levy reported tonight (Wednesday) that Hamas has officially confirmed that Mohammad Deif, the Hamas "Chief of Staff," was indeed hit by the strike targeting him last Saturday.

The IDF had waited for months before conducting the strike, waiting for clear confirmation that Deif, a notoriously careful person who mostly remained in hiding, went to meet the Hamas brigade commander who is considered one of his close confidants.

While Hamas has not confirmed Deif's death, all security forces and organizations believe the odds that Deif survived this, the eighth attempt on his life, are very slim, and that he is likely dead.

His expected replacement will be the Hamas Gaza Brigade commander.
