Haredi draft: Edelstein to convene Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee for emergency meeting

Following reports that the IDF will be sending out initial recruitment orders to draft-eligible Haredim, MK Yuli Edelstein declared an emergency meeting of the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee today (Tuesday), which will convene at 9 AM tomorrow.

According to N12 reporter Amit Segal, there does not appear to be any clear criteria or mechanism for sending out the orders, and the unclear nature of this decision and its consequences only add to an already very charged issue, one which led to violence just yesterday in Bnei Brak.
