Senior Hamas leaders pressuring Sinwar: "End the war"

The CIA estimates that Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar is under increasing pressure from commanders at the top of the terror organization to accept a ceasefire agreement and end the war, CNN reported.

William Burns, head of the American intelligence agency, was quoted as saying this. Burns described how Sinwar is not worried about the possibility of dying himself, but rather about being blamed for the suffering caused to Gaza residents. This marks a significant shift in the position of the Hamas leader, just a month after reports indicated he referred to the casualties in Gaza as "necessary sacrifices."

Earlier today, it was reported that US intelligence officials believe Sinwar is hiding in tunnels beneath Khan Younis, his hometown, and is making key decisions for Hamas regarding the deal. One reason for the prolonged negotiations is the delay in receiving responses from Sinwar.
