A high-ranking security official has confirmed that the phase of intense conflict in Gaza has concluded. In a discussion with News 14, the official stated that we are now entering the third phase, characterized by strategic control of key areas and targeted operations as required. During this period, efforts will intensify to neutralize additional terrorists, including senior Hamas figures in Gaza.

The security establishment's senior official disclosed today (Sunday) that the intense warfare phase in Gaza has ended, marking the transition to the third phase. This new stage, as anticipated following announcements by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, involves our forces assuming strategic control and conducting pinpoint operations as dictated by intelligence.

While ground manoeuvres will cease under this phase, the IDF will maintain a presence over significant territories, particularly along the Philadelphia and Netzer axes. Operations will focus on targeted aerial and ground strikes based on real-time intelligence needs.

It is estimated that this phase, characterized by limited military engagements and intelligence-driven operations, may persist for an extended period.

Against the backdrop of discussions regarding potential negotiations with Hamas for prisoner swaps and amidst constraints preventing direct attacks in Gaza, the security establishment aims to maximize efforts in eliminating terrorists and disrupting their infrastructure.

Furthermore, there is an expectation of increased operations to eliminate Hamas leaders and their associates in Gaza in the near future. This strategy is intended to heighten pressure on the leadership of Hamas and facilitate potential diplomatic negotiations.

Recently, an airstrike targeted Hamas military leader Muhammad Deif and his deputy, Brigadier General Rafe Salama, in a compound near Khan Yunis. The IDF's action, which involved precise planning and intelligence, resulted in great casualties among terrorists, according to Gaza's Ministry of Health. Despite claims by Hamas disputing the success of the strike, Israeli sources indicate that Muhammad Deif's elimination was effectively carried out.
