Border Police stationed at the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron were checking a suspicious Palestinian woman who had arrived at the Tomb's entrance with her two children. When asked by an officer to open her bag for inspection, the suspect refused to comply and tried to interfere with the search. A knife was found concealed in a shirt during the bag inspection. The suspect and one of her sons were arrested, while the other son was detained.

The suspect revealed that she was married to a Hamas terrorist serving time in an Israeli prison and that their aim was to carry out a stabbing attack on a specific security force member near the Cave of the Patriarchs. The 37-year-old woman was arrested and taken for further investigation by the police.
