Combat and reconnaissance troops from Unit 99 Commando Brigade, under the command of the Southern Command, raided a Hamas combat facility that previously served as an UNRWA facility. IDF spokesperson revealed today (Friday) that Unit 99 Commando Brigade forces raided a facility used by Hamas militants, which had previously been used as an UNRWA facility.
Maglan and Egoz forces, directed by the Intelligence Directorate, raided the facility and apprehended militants attempting to flee the area. During the operation, the forces engaged in face-to-face combat with terrorist cells barricaded in the facility and discovered components for assembling explosives, reconnaissance equipment, and numerous combat means including drones, rockets, machine guns, mortars, explosives, and more. Near the facility raided by the forces, a previously destroyed underground tunnel route was discovered, which served as a significant asset of Hamas military intelligence and passed beneath a structure that served as the central headquarters of UNRWA in the area.
In further scans, the forces also raided a university where they discovered an underground laboratory for manufacturing explosives and combat materials.
