Syrian reports: Israel strikes an Iranian target in northwest Syria

The Syrian Ministry of Defense claims Israel is responsible for the attack on an air defense system owned by pro-Iranian militias.

The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, affiliated with the opposition, reported two explosions in the port city of Banyas, located in the northwest, overnight Monday.

The Saudi TV channel Al-Hadath claimed that an air defense system used by pro-Iranian militias was attacked.

The Syrian Ministry of Defense alleged that Israel was responsible, stating the attack on a target in Baniyas caused damage.
