Israel-Gaza War, Hostage Deal

Report: Netanyahu approves sending the Israeli delegation to negotiate a hostage deal

The decision comes following a reportedly softened Hamas proposal which did not insist on a full IDF withdrawal during Stage 1 of the Biden proposal.

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu approved the sending of the Israeli negotiation team back to discuss a hostage deal with mediators today (Thursday), according to Channel 12 reporter Amit Segal.

The decision comes after Hamas reportedly sent a response to the Biden proposal which Israeli security sources said was not a "non-starter" compared to other responses.

In particular, the Hamas response does not insist on the IDF completely withdrawing from the Gaza Strip in "Phase 1" of the proposed three phase Biden deal.
