In a shocking incident in Ashdod, a woman in her 30s was apprehended after allegedly breaking into a residence on Abraham Shapira Street. The suspect reportedly entered the bedroom where a three-month-old baby was sleeping and claimed the child was her own. Following this claim, she proceeded to the kitchen, taking a knife and threatening the infant's parents, as reported by Channel 13.

The situation escalated when a neighbor heard the disturbance and intervened swiftly, striking the suspect with a frying pan. This intervention allowed the parents to regain custody of their child. Law enforcement officers responded promptly to the scene and arrested the suspect, who has been identified as suffering from possible mental health issues.

The Ashdod Magistrate's Court has extended her detention and sent her for psychiatric observation. Charges against her include breaking and entering, kidnapping, making threats, and illegal possession of a weapon.
