Ismail Haniyeh's sibling was killed in an attack on Shati, while the IDF performed multiple airstrikes to eliminate terrorists involved in October 7.
IDF reported hitting structures in Shati and Daraj Tuffah, but did not provide details on specific targets or casualties in the attacks. Hamas announced on Tuesday morning that the sister of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh died in an IDF strike on the Shati refugee camp in Gaza on Tuesday.
Haniyeh responded to the attacks, stating that "the combining of her blood with our people's blood will only serve to make us more resilient."
In April, charges were brought against Zebah Abdel Salem Haniyeh, a 57-year-old sister of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, residing in Tel Sheva in Israel, by the state attorney's office. She was taken into custody for suspected connections to Hamas and involvement in incitement and support for terrorism, then later placed under house arrest in May.
Also in April, Israel killed three of Haniyeh's sons, said to be Hamas operatives, and four grandchildren—three girls and a boy—according to Hamas sources.
It is not immediately clear which of Haniyeh's sisters was killed. It has only been reported that a sibling of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh was killed in the Shati refugee camp in Gaza City.
According to reports from Hebrew media, Palestinian sources state that a building owned by the family of the leader of Hamas' political bureau was targeted in an airstrike, resulting in the deaths of 13 people.
Military declined to provide a statement regarding the attack, but confirmed it targeted two schools in Gaza City where October 7 terrorists had assembled. The sister of Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh, along with nine other relatives, allegedly died in an Israeli airstrike in Gaza City on Tuesday, as reported by the militant group and local media.
Haniyeh, the Hamas political leader, resides mainly in Doha, Qatar while being exiled.
