IDF Chief of Staff: We are very close to dismantling Hamas' Rafah brigade

IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi held a situational assessment yesterday in the Rafah area with senior southern commanders regarding the war in Gaza.

There, the Chief of Staff said that "we are with very high achievements in the fighting in Rafah ... this is expressed in the number of dead terrorists, the destroyed infrastructures ... the underground fighting."

After listing all these achievements, Halevi explained what he means when he says the IDF is close to dismantling Hamas' Rafah brigade: "it is defeated not in the sense that it no longer contains terrorists, but in the sense that it does not know how to function as a combat framework. It has many killed and you will see to it until the end of the mission here, to kill as many terrorists as possible, and to destroy as many infrastructures down the line."
