Something to hide? Planned tour of Beirut airport cut short for journalists

A planned government tour of Beirut airport aimed at proving that Hezbollah doesn't hide weapons in the airport was cut short for journalists.

A planned government tour of Beirut airport for journalists and ambassadors was cut short for the journalists today (Monday), according to Kann 11 reporter Roi Kais.

The tour was meant to refute the Telegraph report yesterday that Hezbollah is stockpiling large numbers of missiles and rockets in the civilian airport to shield it from IDF strikes.

Journalists were not allowed into the main transportation area of the airport, and Lebanese Transportation Minister Ali Hamieh, who held a press conference yesterday strongly denying the presence of weapons in the airport, completed the tour with ambassadors.

This refusal to allow journalists to see the entire area makes it unlikely suspicions of Hezbollah use of the airport will die down.

During an interview he gave to Channe 14, Prime Minister Netanyahu responded to the question of Hezbollah use of the airport for weapons storage by saying "It's better I not talk about it."
