Report: Pro-Iranian militia attacks US base in eastern Syria with drone

This is the first such attack on American forces in the past five months, after a strike on a US base on the Jordan-Syrian border killed three American soldiers.

A drone attack was conducted today against the US al-Tanf military base in eastern Syria, likely by a pro-Iranian Iraqi militia, according to the BBC.

The militia, Kataeb Seyyed al Shuhada, claims that the US killed one of its own in a strike in Syria, though the US denies carrying out strikes last night.

This is the first strike by pro-Iranian forces in the region outside the Yemen area against US troops for the past five months, after a strike on a US base on the Jordan-Syrian border killed three US soldiers and led Iran to warn its proxies against direct attacks on American forces in the Middle East.
