Israel-Gaza War, Hezbollah

IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi visited an aerial defense battery on the northern border today (Wednesday), where he addressed the question of a possible war with Hezbollah and the two sides' capabilities.

Specifically, Halevi addressed Hezbollah's drone footage video showing the Haifa area, including sensitive defense sites, saying "yesterday Hezbollah put out a clip with a capability which we know and we are preparing and building solutions to deal with such capabilities and with other capabilities whose application you will encounter in time of need."

Halevi countered that "We of course have far stronger capabilities, which I think the enemy only knows a small part of the capabilities we have, and he will encounter them when needed at the right time."

Meanwhile, Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah stated on TV today that a potential invasion of the Galilee is still a possibility if the conflict intensifies. Nasrallah cautioned that Cyprus will be drawn into conflict with Hezbollah if it supports Israel in any way during the war.

The Alma Center, which focuses on events along the northern border and beyond, says that Hezbollah's drone video showing the Haifa area, including sensitive sites, was probably stitched together from multiple drone shots rather than being one single drone flight.

According to Alma Center analyst Boaz Shapira, there are subtle changes in shadowing in the different pictures taken of different sites within the Haifa area, suggesting the flight taking place at very different times of the day.

Shapira considers it highly unlikely that Israel's advanced aerial defense system would not detect a drone hovering in the north for that long, and it is more likely that the drone or drones took the pictures over the course of several weeks, from April to June.
