Following reports of cases of West Nile virus, the Health Ministry stated today (Wednesday) that there was no unusual increase in cases of people infected with the disease.

The ministry further stated that the virus is generally more prevalent between June and September, but that this period has now expanded back into April due changes in climate around the world.

The ministry recommended taking normal precautions such as using mosquito repellent and keeping fans on in residences.
