Brigadier General (ret.) Effi Eitam, former commander of the 91st Division and a minister in various Israeli governments, commented on the conduct of the current state of war in Gaza and the north, and estimated that the war would last at least another two years.

In an interview with Radio 103FM, Eitam stated that "the army was given an objective, to bring down Hamas as a military organization. For 20 years we told ourselves stories. Everyone who holds a weapon should die. All weapons should be collected. We have almost the entire territory of the Strip in our hands, we move about it relatively freely."

He clarified: "The war period will last for about three years, one behind us, another year for the war in Lebanon, and another year dealing with everything related to Iran."
