Ynet: Senior Israeli source says Hamas response on truce "absolutely negative"

A source speaking to Ynet said that as far as Israel was concerned, either Hamas agrees to the Biden parameters as written, or there is no deal.

A senior Israeli member of Israel's hostage negotiation team told Ynet today (Sunday) that "as far as Israel is concerned, Hamas' response to Biden's outline" for a hostage deal is "entirely negative."

The source said that in their response, Hamas "changed the whole proposal," introducing "essential changes" rather than "minor" ones, contrary to Hamas' claims that they accepted Biden's proposal for a ceasefire with a few small comments.

The source said that when it came to agreeing to a ceasefire or an end to the war, this cannot be done with an advance commitment, since Hamas has violated many prior agreements. He said that it can only come via the Biden proposal as written, and only by keeping means of pressuring Hamas in place to make sure it keeps up its end of the bargain.
