In a speech he gave for the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Adha, Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh said that Hamas and the other terrorist organizations are serious about a deal but that Israel is trying to "deceive" and continue the "war of destruction" in Gaza, according to Kann 11 News reporter Roi Kais.

Per Kais, Haniyeh said that Hamas agreed with the Biden outline for a ceasefire as laid out in the President's speech and affirmed by the UN Security Council.

Haniyeh also said that Hamas and other terrorist organizations insist on a deal that includes a permanent ceasefire, a general withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, rebuilding of the Strip, and what they called a prisoner exchange deal. The Hamas leader noted that "it needs to be clear, not open to doubt, not open to interpretations, and not given to delay, negotiation, or tricks."
