In a Saturday address to the Michigan Democratic Party, Vice President Kamala Harris sparked controversy by focusing on the Palestinian casualties in a recent Israeli hostage rescue operation.
Harris briefly mentioned that the hostages were reunited with their families, but neglected to point out that the 4 Israeli hostages were rescued after being kidnapped and held eight months in Hamas captivity, but she also lamented the loss of Palestinian lives.
Critics argue her remarks are misplaced, given that the operation targeted those responsible for the brutal massacre of 1,200 innocent people and the abduction of 250 others. "We mourn all of the innocent lives that have been lost in Gaza, including those tragically killed today," Harris stated, drawing criticism for appearing to equate the victims with their captors.
