Liberman: Netanyahu offered me Defense portfolio

Yisrael Beytenu party chairman Avigdor Liberman claimed in an interview today that Netanyahu offered him the position of Defense Minister. The Likud party says "there was no such proposal."

Last weekend, Yisrael Beytenu party chairman Avigdor Liberman claims he received a proposal to serve as Defense Minister, a proposal with Netanyahu's knowledge, according to an interview Liberman gave this morning for Ynet.

The Likud party says that "there was no such proposal."

If there are efforts to bring Liberman into the coalition, they come against the background of Gantz and his party's efforts to bring about early elections, efforts which Likud opposes.
