Former Mossad Director Yossi Cohen interviewed today (Thursday) for Channel 14 on a range of current events.
Cohen spoke of the Iranian threat, noting that "if we have to act alone against the nuclear project - we have to be ready for that - Israel needs to have that capability." The former intelligence chief clarified that "I suggest the Iranians not check if Israel has that ability. Iran will not act when there is sufficient deterrence."
Cohen also addressed Rafah operations, saying that "we need to be very determined to carry out the missions assigned by the cabinet at the beginning of the war - collapsing Hamas rule as such." He stressed that "Rafah is a chapter in the campaign."
Regarding the "day after" in Gaza, Cohen said emphatically that "I am against a Palestinian state under any conditions." Regarding control of the Strip, Cohen noted that he does not want to see Israel reestablish control of the civilian population, saying "this will cost us lives."
