22-year old Sawahira resident arrested on suspicion of joining ISIS

According to the Israel Police, the suspect contacted ISIS representatives abroad and planned to receive training to carry out terror attacks.

The Israel Police and ISA announced this morning (Thursday) that they have arrested a 22 year old resident of Sawahira on suspicion of membership in ISIS.

The Israel Police investigation found the suspect tried to join ISIS, even contacting its representatives abroad and travelling to Turkey and African countries.

The police suspect that he intended to be trained and given direction to carry out terror attacks.

He is set to be officially indicted over the next few days.
