A senior Palestinian source told the Arabic AWP news service today (Sunday) of negotiations taking place to hand over Rafah crossing to Palestinian control.
According to the report, a "cautious and detailed discussion is taking place between the United States, Egypt, the Palestinian Authority, and Israel regarding official Palestinian management of the crossings in the Gaza Strip, with the possibility of a third party agreed to by Egypt and the Palestinians," the source said, adding "the talks deal primarily with the Kerem Shalom and Rafah crossings, as well as additional crossings in the northern Strip, in order to ease the entry of goods and humanitarian aid into the Strip and the movement of people to and from it."
