Israel-Gaza War, Spain

FM Katz: Spanish consulate now prohibited from servicing Palestinians in Judea and Samaria

The move comes after Spain announced its intent to recognize a Palestinian state, alongside the countries of Norway and Ireland.

The Foreign Minister announced today (Friday) that in retaliation for Spain's decision to recognize a Palestinian state, the Spanish consulate in Jerusalem would now be prohibited from providing services to Palestinians in Judea and Samaria.

In a post published on X, Katz said that the decision was also due to Spain's Deputy Prime Minister calling for a free Palestine "from the river to the sea," a slogan meaning the end of Israel.

He suggested to the Deputy Prime Minister that "If this ignorant, hate-filled individual wants to understand what radical Islam truly seeks, she should study the 700 years of Islamic rule in Al-Andalus—today's Spain."
