Watch: IDF spokesperson explains Rafah operations

IDF Spokesperson Daniel Hagari explained in an English language statement that Rafah contains hostages and that the IDF is now very experienced in minimizing civilian casualties.

The IDF Spokesperson released an English language video statement today (Thursday) explaining the rationale of the Rafah operation in the wake of the release of the video of some of Israel's female captives.

In the video, Hagari explained that the IDF is operating based on targeted intelligence to find the hostages, that hostages are present in Rafah, and that the IDF has gained a lot of experience in reducing civilian casualties in fighting Hamas.

He also stressed the importance of aid flowing to Gazans, including via the temporary pier built by the United States.
