Following the announcement that Israel will be closing down Al Jazeera's offices in the country due to the network's antisemitic standpoints and tacit approval of Hamas and the October 7 massacre earlier in the month, inspectors from the Ministry of Communications raided the Associated Press's (AP) offices in Sderot, confiscating equipment.
During the raid, photographic equipment providing services to Al Jazeera was confiscated, including a camera used to document Israeli troops in northern Gaza, thereby endangering their lives.
Documentation of the raid:
It should be noted that a warning was provided to the AP agency as early as last week. Sources informed the network of the government's decision to prohibit third parties from providing broadcasts to Al Jazeera. The station's management, however, decided to continue broadcasting on the channel, thereby harming state security.
The confiscated equipment includes a camera, tripod, Live u modem and two microphones. No unusual events were recorded during the activity.
