IDF Spokesperson Daniel Hagari announced today (Thursday) that two of the Thai hostages were murdered, with their bodies being held in Gaza. He reiterated the IDF's commitment to bring all the hostages home.

Hagari also mentioned the friendly fire incident in Jebaliya, in which five soldiers were killed and eight wounded: "From the initial investigation, it appears our forces fired from a tank towards the structure in which the soldiers were present due to mistaken identification. This is a very serious and difficult event. We are talking about a dense combat area in which the terrorists fire dozens of RPG rockets towards IDF tanks, and a work environment under a very complex operational tension and in a very dense area."

He also noted that "we are not forgetting the rocket fire on Sderot, and we are continuing to operate against any rocket fire done from the Gaza Strip and any intelligence on a location where there are rockets."
